Cheshire Ploughing Match graphic

In 2016 we had record entries for both exhibitors and competitors with over 130 Trade Stands, 94 tractor competitors, 5 working pairs of horses and 45 hedgelayers and hedgecutters.

Ploughing competition

The competition starts at 10.00am.

Who can plough the best furrow, will it be the large modern tractors we see working in our fields today or the vintage and classic tractors of yesteryear, or will the magnificent shire horses beat them all?

Come along, enjoy the spectacle and judge for yourselves.

Take time to marvel at the hedgelaying competitors who work hard transforming sometimes overgrown hedges into ones that will be stock proof and last for years.

Exhibitors put a great deal of effort into their stands & all the trade stands on the showground are agriculture based, so whether you are considering investing in new machinery or just want a chat, these are the people you need to see.

Local food stalls are available to satisfy any hunger pangs and there is a bar to quench your thirst.
